This new 1:32 analog slot car comes in its matching clear-front box. The Porsche 550 Spyder #15, driven at the Berlin GP on the iconic AVUS circuit in 1955, is one of the most legendary factory cars in Porsche's racing history. The car was driven by the famous German driver, journalist and founder of the Porsche magazine Christophorus, Richard von Frankenberg. With this specific starting number composition, he won the victory in his class and the German championship. Historical Context & Performance The Race (1955): Richard von Frankenberg dominated the 1500cc class on the fast-paced AVUS circuit with starting number 15. He achieved the victory with an impressive average speed of 197.4 km/h (122.7 mph). The Circuit: AVUS in Berlin was known at the time for its extremely long straights and the life-threatening, 43-degree steep north bend (also called the "Wall of Death"). Confusion with 1956: Von Frankenberg became even more famous worldwide at AVUS in 1956. During that race, he flew with a further developed Porsche (the unique, aerodynamic type 645 "Mickey Mouse" prototype) over the edge of the steep curve. He was hurled out of the car, landed in the bushes and survived the accident as if by a miracle with only minor injuries—an event known as the "Miracle of AVUS." Technical Specifications of the Car The Porsche 550 RS Spyder was at the time a technological masterpiece that managed to defeat larger, more powerful cars (hence the nickname "Giant Killer"): Engine: 1.5-litre (1,498 cc) air-cooled 'Ernst Fuhrmann' four-cylinder boxer engine with four overhead camshafts (Type 547). Power: About 110 hp at 6,200 rpm. Weight: Only ~550 kg thanks to a tube frame and an ultra-light aluminum body. Top speed: Approximately 220 km/h. Popular Miniatures and Scale Models Due to the historical status of this particular car and driver, the #15 Avus 1955 version is a highly sought after object among collectors. Major manufacturers have accurately copied this car: Slotcars (Scale 1:32): Released by Revell Monogram (Article number 08363), very popular on racetracks due to the detailed silver finish with the iconic red stripes on the rear fenders. Die-cast Models (Scale 1:43): Produced by the Italian Brumm (Model R327), complete with the correct historical lettering and driver details of Richard von Frankenberg

Livery: The car features a detailed red and white racing ride with the sponsor print of tire brand Uniroyal. Collector's Value: Because these models were produced in a limited series around 2007-2008, they are today considered collector's items. You can find them mainly on platforms such as eBay or specialized model building fairs. 🏁 The Real Race Class: Uniroyal Fun Cup The Fun Cup (formerly sponsored by Uniroyal) is an endurance racing class founded in Belgium in 1997 by Franz Dubois. Although the cars look like a classic Beetle, they are subcutaneously purebred racing machines: Chassis: A super-strong, specially designed tube chassis (tubular frame) with a lightweight body of polyester. Mechanics: Depending on the generation (Evo 1 to Evo 3) powered by a reliable 1.8L to 2.0L Volkswagen/Audi engine (ranging from 130 to 175 hp) coupled with a sequential gearbox. Goal: To offer affordable and equal motorsports in which amateur and professional drivers form teams together. The highlight of the season is traditionally the legendary 25 Hours of Spa-Francorchamps, where sometimes more than 100 of these identical 'Beetles' appear at the start at the same time.
Revell Shelby Cobra Daytona Coupe #5 Le Mans 1964
In stock
The Revell Shelby Cobra slot car in 1/32 scale, specifically the #5 model, refers to a collectible and playable miniature car. These models are part of a long history of slot car manufacturing by Revell, often in collaboration with Monogram. These 1/32 scale slot cars often feature a short-can 18.5K rpm motor, an inline, front-mounted motor position, and a 9/27 pinion/gear ratio. They typically have plastic wheels and rubber tires, and some models may not include lights. While designed for analog tracks, some models can be retrofitted with a digital chip for use on digital track systems. The Shelby Cobra Daytona Coupe models often represent specific historical racing cars, such as the Scuderia Filipinetti car driven in the 1965 Targa Florio or the 1965 Daytona 24 Hour class winner. Revell has a history of re-boxing older kits, so while a kit might be advertised as "new," the molds themselves could date back several decades, potentially requiring modelers to address flash and other molding imperfections. The original Revell 1/32 scale Cooper Cobra kit, also known as the "Lang Cooper," was issued in 1966

The car was developed in the late 70’s and early 80’s by the racing team Zakspeed in collaboration with Ford, specifically to compete with the then dominant Porsche 935. Main Features Extreme Aerodynamics: The original street version of the Ford Capri was almost nothing left except the roofline and the basic shape of the grille. The car received huge fenders, a giant rear wing and an extremely wide and low body kit made of kevlar and carbon fiber. Lightweight Construction: By using a tube frame and super-light materials, the machine weighed only 880 kilos. Explosive Turbo power: The car used a relatively small 4-cylinder BDA line engine (initially a 1.4-liter variant to fall within the Division 2 regulations, later also a 1.7-liter for Division 1). Thanks to a huge KKK turbocharger, this block delivered between 450 and 580 horsepower at terrifyingly high revs. Technical Specifications (1.7L Division 1 Variant) Part Specification Engine 1.7L Turbo-Charged 4-Cylinder In-Line Engine Power approx. 580 hp @ 9.000 rpm Couple ca. 485 Nm @ 9.800 rpm Weight 880 kg Drive Rear-wheel drive with a manual 5-box Autosport Successes The Capri Group 5 was not only spectacular to see and hear, but was also extremely fast. Big racing icons like Klaus Ludwig and Hans Heyer drove the car to countless victories. The absolute highlight in the car's history was the achievement of the overall DRM title in 1981 by Klaus Ludwig in the iconic red-and-white Würth-sponsored Capri. Today, the Zakspeed Capri is an absolute crowd favourite during historic demonstrations and races, such as the Goodwood Festival of Speed and the Oldtimer Grand Prix at the Nürburgring. Showing everything First victory The first victory of the Ford Zakspeed Capri Turbo Group 5 was achieved on 17 September 1978 during the DRM Supersprint at the Nürburgring. The car was driven by the legendary German driver Hans Heyer. Details of the Debut Season (1978) Quick debut: The car only debuted midway through the DRM season of 1978 (during the race at the Hockenheimring). Immediately dominant: Although the car still suffered from childhood diseases in terms of reliability in the first races, it immediately proved its pure speed. Qualifications: In the only 4 races in which the car started that year, Hans Heyer took pole position 4 times. The iconic look: During this first victory, the Capri rode in the familiar red-and-white colours of main sponsor Mampe (a well-known German beverage manufacturer). Engine: This was the Division 2 variant, equipped with the compact 1.4-litre turbo-line engine.
