This used 1:32 Scaleauto analog slot car is supplied without a box. Its customised livery also carries ADAC and ‘Mobile 1’ markings. Coca Cola graphics cover the metallic blue body of this customised Ford Capri Turbo RS #37. The wide Group 5 shape, gold-centred wheels and tall rear wing give it a dramatic profile.
The Ford Zakspeed Capri Turbo Group 5 is one of the most legendary racing cars from the "silhouette" era of the German Championship Deutsche Rennsport Meisterschaft (DRM). The car was developed in the late 70’s and early 80’s by the racing team Zakspeed in collaboration with Ford, specifically to compete with the then dominant Porsche 935.
Main Features
Extreme Aerodynamics: The original street version of the Ford Capri was almost nothing left except the roofline and the basic shape of the grille. The car received huge fenders, a giant rear wing and an extremely wide and low body kit made of kevlar and carbon fiber.
Lightweight Construction: By using a tube frame and super-light materials, the machine weighed only 880 kilos.
Explosive Turbo power: The car used a relatively small 4-cylinder BDA line engine (initially a 1.4-liter variant to fall within the Division 2 regulations, later also a 1.7-liter for Division 1). Thanks to a huge KKK turbocharger, this block delivered between 450 and 580 horsepower at terrifyingly high revs.

The Capri Group 5 was not only spectacular to see and hear, but was also extremely fast. Big racing icons like Klaus Ludwig and Hans Heyer drove the car to countless victories. The absolute highlight in the car's history was the achievement of the overall DRM title in 1981 by Klaus Ludwig in the iconic red-and-white Würth-sponsored Capri.
Today, the Zakspeed Capri is an absolute crowd favourite during historic demonstrations and races, such as the Goodwood Festival of Speed and the Oldtimer Grand Prix at the Nürburgring.

The first victory of the Ford Zakspeed Capri Turbo Group 5 was achieved on 17 September 1978 during the DRM Supersprint at the Nürburgring.
The car was driven by the legendary German driver Hans Heyer.

Quick debut: The car only debuted midway through the DRM season of 1978 (during the race at the Hockenheimring).
Immediately dominant: Although the car still suffered from childhood diseases in terms of reliability in the first races, it immediately proved its pure speed.
Qualifications: In the only 4 races in which the car started that year, Hans Heyer took pole position 4 times.
The iconic look: During this first victory, the Capri rode in the familiar red-and-white colours of main sponsor Mampe (a well-known German beverage manufacturer).
Engine: This was the Division 2 variant, equipped with the compact 1.4-litre turbo-line engine.
