Background and Features Origin of the moulds: The moulds of this Jaguar XK120 were originally from the Sanwa brand, which released a kit in 1961. After Tokyo Plamo took over the company Sanwa in 1964, they released the kit again (a so-called rebox) under their own brand name. The bodywork itself was at the time a direct copy of an older model of the American brand Lindberg. Drive: The kit was designed to be powered by a Mabuchi FT16 electric motor. Domestic vs. Export versions: In the regular Japanese editions, the engine had to be purchased separately, which was very common in Japan at the time.
