NART's red Ferrari 512 BB LM #64 brings a classic Le Mans livery to the Carrera Evolution range. The new slot car carries prominent BP and Michelin markings alongside its NART identification. It represents Jean-Claude Andruet's entry and comes in a clear Carrera display case.
The Ferrari 512BB LM #64 entered by Luigi Chinetti’s North American Racing Team (NART) is an iconic piece of endurance racing history from the 1979 24 Hours of Le Mans.
The 1979 Le Mans Campaign
For the 1979 race, Ferrari and Pininfarina heavily updated the 512 BB LM bodywork. They extended the tail to the regulatory maximum and integrated fixed headlights to maximize aerodynamic efficiency down the legendary Mulsanne Straight.
The #64 NART entry featured a striking red livery with white and blue accents. It was driven by the trio of Jean-Pierre Delaunay, Cyril Grandet, and Preston Henn. Unfortunately, despite its aggressive performance and gorgeous aesthetics, the car did not see the checkered flag and suffered a DNF (Did Not Finish) due to mechanical failure.
