Scalextric Porsche 911 in good condition, missing mirrors and some scuffs, a fairly rare car.

The Scalextric Porsche 911 GT1 #3 (yellow/black, reference number C2422) is an iconic 1:32 scale model slotcar released by Scalextric around 2002. This particular model is modeled after the well-known Argos-livery.

Product specifications

Brand: Scalextric
Model: Porsche 911 GT1
Reference number: C2422
Color/Livery: Yellow with Black Accents (Argos Racing)
Start number: #3
Scale: 1:32
Lighting: This specific version (C2422) was supplied as part of a set, is unlit and is equipped with a so-called blanking plug at the place where the lighting circuit board normally sits.

Collector value
This model is relatively rare today and sought after among slotcar enthusiasts. Because it was originally a set of car (a car that was exclusively in a complete racetrack set and not sold separately in a display case box), many copies have been used intensively over the years, which has made models in a 'Near Mint' or undamaged state scarce.

Although the Scalextric version (C2422) has a fictional yellow-black "Emergency Services/Argos" livery, the car on which it is based is one of the most extreme racing cars ever built.

The Three Evolutions of the Real GT1
The car on the Scalextric chassis is based on the first two generations of the GT1:

911 GT1 (1996): The basic version. Unlike competitors like the McLaren F1 (which was a street car that was converted into a racer), Porsche did the other way around: they built a purebred race car and later made a few street versions of it. The front looked like a regular Porsche 911 (Type 993) at the time, but the rear came straight from the Porsche 962 Group C-racer.

911 GT1 Evo (1997): This is the exact body model that Scalextric used for the C2422. The car received an aerodynamic upgrade and the recognizable "driphead lights" of the then new Porsche 911 (Type 996) and Boxster.

911 GT1-98 (1998): A completely redesigned sample with a carbon fiber (carbon fiber) chassis that finally picked up the legendary 1-2 victory at Le Mans in 1998.

Technical Specifications of the Race Version

Engine: 3.2-liter water-cooled twin-turbo flat-six (boxer engine).
Power: Approximately 600 hp in race-trim (bounded by the FIA regulations).
Top speed: More than 330 km/h on the legendary straight (Mulsanne) in Le Mans.
Weight: Only 1,050 kg (the 1998 variant weighed even 950 kg).

The "Street Version" (Straßenversion)
The FIA rules at the time required manufacturers to build a small number of street-legal versions for the homologation. Porsche eventually built only about 25 pieces of the Porsche 911 GT1 Straßenversion. These had a slightly scaled-back engine (544 hp) to meet the emission requirements, but still reached 0-100 km/h in 3.9 seconds. Today, these street versions are worth millions of euros and are among the most exclusive 'hypercars' in the world.
