The Nissan Skyline Turbo Gr.5 #5 JPS 1982 mainly refers to a popular limited edition 1/32 scale slotcar produced by the manufacturer Racer Sideways (model SWLE09).
The model combines the brutal, historic design of the legendary Group 5 Nissan Skyline from 1982 with the iconic, black-and-gold John Player Special (JPS) livery. While this particular black-and-gold JPS version on the Skyline is a "fantasy/special edition" for collectors, the car on which it is based is an iconic piece of motorsport history.
The real historic car: Skyline Turbo Group 5
The circuit monster: The real car was developed by Nissan for the spectacular Japanese Super Silhouette Series (which ran from 1979 to 1984) according to the international Group 5 regulations.
The power: Under the huge body kit was a fiery 2-liter four-cylinder turbo block (the LZ20B) that delivered a whopping 570 hp.
Performance: The car weighed only 1005 kg. In his 1982 debut year, legendary driver Masahiro Hasemi immediately picked up two victories with the iconic red-and-black Tomica performance.
